Legacy

Please remember our work in your will

For over 40 years, HACRO has been working to reduce offending and to fulfil its vision of a world in which everyone on the wrong side of the law has the chance to turn their lives around and make a full contribution to society.

We work with offenders, potential offenders and their families to help them achieve positive change. Over the years, we have helped many offenders to turn from crime and make a new start.

Our small army of volunteers and our dedicated trustees ensure that every penny we receive is spent effectively in supporting offenders to reform, via training, education and support.

Men like our founder, Sam Clarke.

Sam’s legacy gift went towards setting up a small grants fund to help ex-offenders buy the small but essential items they need to get a new start. Things like a duplicate of a lost Birth Certificate; a suit of clothes for an interview; bedding; or kitchen utensils.

We know our work is effective and is recognised as such by the police and probation service. However, as a charity, we rely on voluntary income to sustain and develop our programmes.

One important way you can support our work is by remembering HACRO in your will. Your legacy will go directly to supporting the work we do with offenders over the next 40 years.

So next time you update your will, please consider including a legacy to HACRO. We promise to use it wisely to help local offenders turn from crime.

Thank you for your support – it is most appreciated

The kind of difference HACRO can make to a prolific offender’s difficult journey back into employment :

  • I have been involved with HACRO for over two years. I have been going to projects and I have learnt so much. Wood work is something I have never done before but was taught by Tony and I made a well which I’m very proud of. Working with HACRO has helped build my confidence. The projects are a great way to build up self-esteem, learn how to work as part of a team. If I never had the projects run by HACRO I’d feel lost.
