Yasmin Batliwala

President

Yasmin Batliwala became President of HACRO several years ago, having been its Chair for many years: she knows HACRO  well. Passionate about promoting the benefits of rehabilitation or ex-offenders, she has always maintained the belief that constructive change is possible, and she has always acted in accordance with this view.

Yasmin is the Chair of WDP – a major charity providing support to people experiencing problems with their drug and alcohol use. In addition, Yasmin is the CEO of Advocates for International Development (A4ID), a global non-profit organisation, that believes the law can and should be used more effectively to eradicate poverty. A4ID sources lawyers to provide legal advice and assistance, pro bono, to support organisations working in international development.
